Cycling races and unique routes in the world
From the emerald green hillsides to the blue sea, following routes along river banks, sweet hills, flat planes and silent woods. Open your eyes wide at the magnifent panoramas to be found in Bertinoro, Roncofreddo, Verghereto and Campigna.
Discover hospitality, taste and smell similar to that of the olden days; the wine and good food along the gastronomic itinerary: "Strada dei vini e dei sapori", or go to Bagno di Romagna and San Piero in Bagno to try out the generous natural wellness spas.
Inland, in the midst of wonderful and varied countryside where numerous routes of varying length and difficulty are the perfect leg work-out. But Cesenatico is also the perfect place for cycling races: the "Nove Colli" race in particular, with more than 10,000 participants, but also the Titano Gran Fondo, the Monaco-Cesenatico, the "Via del Sale" and many more including mountain bike and triathlon races.
Nove colli: the queen of the gran fondo
he Nove Colli Gran Fondo is one of Italy’s most famous cycling events and with over 12.000 riders it’s one of the most popular too. It starts and finishes in the charming port of Cesenatico.
The full Nove Colli route covers nine hills over 200 km of beautiful undulating italian countryside.
The stunning scenery as you climb through italian hills before descending back down to the Adriatic coast is one of many reasons why cyclists who love to travel should add the Nove Colli to the “to do” list!
Add in a splash of Italian wine, great food, a seaside resort steeped in the history of Marco Pantani and you have the recipe for a classic Italian Gran Fondo.
